Privacy
Your privacy.
How the Nehemiah Foundation collects, uses and protects your information.
In short
- We collect only what we need to receive gifts, answer questions and review scholarship applications.
- Scholarship income documents are seen only by our Scholarship Committee and used only to decide eligibility.
- We never sell or trade your information, and we don’t share our email list with partners.
- You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
What we collect
- Pre-registration and contact forms: name, email, state, ZIP code, your role, and anything you choose to tell us.
- Gifts: name, contact details, gift amount and designation. Card and bank details are handled by our payment processor (Donorbox and its payment partners); we don’t store them.
- Scholarship applications: household information and income documents needed to decide eligibility. [Coming soon]
- Website use: basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar tools to keep the site secure and working.
Why we use it
To process and acknowledge gifts, issue tax receipts and acknowledgment letters, report tax-credit gifts to the IRS as the law requires, review scholarship applications, answer your questions, and send updates you’ve asked for.
Who sees it
Our staff and board as needed for their work. Scholarship income documents are seen only by the Scholarship Committee. We share information with service providers who help us run the Foundation (such as our payment processor and email service) only as needed, and with government agencies when the law requires it, for example the IRS and the states where we serve.
How long we keep it
We keep gift records and scholarship records for as long as tax and charity law requires, and other information only as long as we need it.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also write to us to be removed.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, subject to records the law requires us to keep.
